How I got to be a guide

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was brought up in one of the best bilingual schools in the country, where I learnt most of the skills I have today :)

When I was 18 my family moved to Punta del Este, a beautiful city on the coast of Uruguay. There I spent 17 years of my life, I got my degree in Architecture, became a Mum
and brought up my 3 beautiful daughters.

In 2005 we moved to Melbourne, Australia, where we had a wonderful experience living for more than 2 years amongst the Aussies.

Life happens... And I moved to Cartagena, Spain, where I live today, and the 2008 crisis forced me to recycle :) so putting together my love for architecture, my passion for history, the desire to teach (I've been teaching English as a second language ever since I was 16) and my sociable personality:  I found my niche as a tourist guide.

Not that it was easy! In 2012 I started working at the museums and archaeological sites in the city after taking a 5 month course to become a guide, and in November 2015 I finally got my accreditation to become an
Official Tourist Guide in the Region of Murcia. Since then I have been guiding groups of visitors who arrive in cruise ships and I have also worked with a variety of groups with people of all ages and nationalities that have decidedly enriched my days. Together with Cande, my youngest daughter who´s also in the industry, we are now both working for EF, touring around Europe with young North American students, and having a heck of a time out there!

This is a short summary of many years, and I hope to be able to make it even more interesting with what comes ahead!
